Diddy Appeals Prison Sentence, Claims Court Ignored Jury’s Not-Guilty Verdicts

Music mogul Sean Combs has filed an appeal challenging the federal prison sentence he received following his 2025 trial. The appeal was submitted to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, where his legal team is asking the court to review and potentially reduce the punishment.

Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison after a jury found him guilty of two counts of transporting individuals for prostitution under the Mann Act. During the same trial, however, the jury acquitted him of several more serious allegations, including racketeering and sex-trafficking charges.

In the appeal, Combs’ attorneys argue that the judge improperly relied on those acquitted allegations when deciding the length of his sentence. They say the court effectively punished him for crimes the jury did not find him guilty of, which they claim is unfair and inconsistent with the verdict.

The appeals court will now review the case and determine whether the sentencing process was handled properly. If the court agrees with the defense, Combs could receive a new sentencing hearing or potentially see his prison term reduced. Until a decision is made, Combs remains incarcerated at Federal Correctional Institution Fort Dix.
