Quavo is stepping deeper into his Hollywood era, and he’s doing it the same way he built his music career, fast, loud, and rooted in Atlanta culture. The rapper-turned-actor just unveiled the first trailer for Takeover, an action thriller set against the backdrop of the city’s underground street-racing scene.
In the film, Quavo stars as Guy Miller, a recently released ex-con trying to keep his life on track after prison. But staying out of trouble proves easier said than done. When he’s pulled back into Atlanta’s takeover car culture, the chaotic street gatherings known for high-speed stunts and intersection burnouts, Miller quickly finds himself caught in something much bigger: a dangerous diamond heist orchestrated by a powerful international crime boss.
The trailer leans hard into Atlanta’s pulse, roaring engines, packed intersections, and high-stakes chases ripping through the city’s streets. Between the adrenaline and the crime-thriller tension, the film taps into the real-world energy of takeover culture while weaving it into a cinematic story about loyalty, survival, and redemption.
For fans, Takeover also carries deeper emotional weight. The film reportedly features one of the final on-screen appearances of Takeoff, Quavo’s late Migos bandmate, adding a meaningful layer to the project for the hip-hop community.
Directed by Greg Jonkajtys, the film blends live-action with stylized visual effects and features a cast that includes Billy Zane, Serayah, LaMonica Garrett, and Martin Sensmeier. Produced by Quality Control and Trioscope Studios, Takeovermarks one of Quavo’s most ambitious film roles yet as he continues expanding his career beyond music.
With Atlanta itself serving as both backdrop and character, Takeover promises to capture the city’s car culture, street energy, and larger-than-life personalities in a way that feels authentic to the community that inspired it.
Takeover is slated to hit theaters in 2026.
