RZA and Quentin Tarantino Bring Gritty Revenge Thriller One Spoon of Chocolate to Theaters

Hip-hop and Hollywood are colliding again. RZA is teaming up with longtime collaborator Quentin Tarantino to bring the gritty revenge thriller One Spoon of Chocolate to theaters this spring, a move that blends Wu-Tang storytelling energy with Tarantino’s love for raw, old-school cinema.

Written, directed, and produced by RZA, the film stars Shameik Moore as Unique, a military veteran trying to start over in a quiet Southern town after prison. But his attempt at a clean slate quickly unravels when he discovers a disturbing pattern of missing young men, pulling him into a violent web involving corrupt cops, local gangs, and a system stacked against outsiders.

The film also features a cast that includes Blair Underwood, RJ Cyler and Paris Jackson.

The project first premiered at the Tribeca Festival in 2025, where it drew attention for its mix of grindhouse action, martial-arts influence, and socially charged storytelling, the same blend of style and substance that has defined RZA’s creative work since the early days of Wu-Tang.

Now the film is headed to theaters through RZA’s new distribution venture, 36 Cinema Distribution, with Tarantino presenting the release. The partnership marks another chapter in a creative relationship that goes back decades, including RZA’s work on the soundtrack for Kill Bill and Tarantino’s ongoing support of the rapper-turned-filmmaker’s directing career.

Select screenings of One Spoon of Chocolate will also run in 35mm, including special showings at the Vista Theatre, a fitting home for a film that proudly leans into the raw, analog feel of classic revenge cinema.
